Career Coaching
In the field of career
coaching, I
find that issues tend to involve around one or
more of
the following aspects:
- Looking for a major change of career or to start up your own business
- Seeking to make a decision about a current work situation or to resolve current work problems
- Trying to achieve a better work/life balance.
- Coping with the stresses and pressures of managing your own business
The career
coaching that I offer begins by helping you to identify:
- A vision for yourself of the kind of person that you would like to be in order to fulfil your potential
- How your current work situation is helping or hindering you towards fulfilling that vision and
- How you can change your approach within your current work situation or through exploring new options, so as to help you move closer to fulfilling that vision.
Creating a vision
of and for yourself has the advantage that you can look for immediate
improvements to help you become closer to the kind of person you want
to be at the same
time as you explore longer term options.
I can also offer support in dealing with fears around what might go wrong if you make a major change of career - (Please see my Article on Career Change for some ideas about this).
I have particular personal experience of making significant career
changes, having worked a number of years ago as a lawyer in a
commercial environment, before moving into the helping professions as a
social worker and then becoming a life coach.
I can also offer particular techniques to help with stress management, time management and life balance, if required.
